Monumental Resistance: Stonewall

Monumental Resistance: Stonewall is a durational performance in which Triburgo stood in front of the Stonewall Inn for 24 hours. Van Dyck captured an image every 15 seconds, resulting in over 3,500 images compiled in a time-lapse video. Triburgo’s visibly trans* body is exposed to the waist as a tribute to the trans people of color who catalyzed the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, yet continue to be excluded from civil rights protections and targeted by the Trump administration.
